On December 30th 2024, Jacob Niall Walker passed away at 39 years old after a lengthy battle with the side effects of 2 brain cancer surgeries which were followed by chemotherapy and radiation. Jacob fought valiantly and with great purpose, to show the world what his body and mind were capable of, becoming an ambassador for many brain cancer causes.

Jacob was well known in sports media in Australia, having worked on live broadcast for various networks of AFL football, men's and women's cricket, racing, Paralymic Games London 2012 and Rio 2016, Bowls Premier League and the Stawell Gift Athletics, as well as panel shows for these sports.

Jacob was a hard worker, who never said no to a challenge, as demonstrated in his determined efforts to get women's sports on live television.

Jacob loved and appreciated his family and friends and enjoyed sharing his sense of humour and a laugh with those around him. He was well known for his cheesy grin and big blue eyes, and maybe even a few dance moves.

Jacob is survived by his 2 beautiful children Hudson and Navy, his parents Cheryl and Graeme and his sisters Rhiannon and Tahnee. He is preceded by his brother Nathanael.
